After our successful glamping trip last year at El Capital Canyon, we decided to do another one for the summer of 2018. This time we stayed at the Ventura Ranch KOA campsite in Santa Paula, CA. We stayed at one of the Teepee Tents and it was such a great experience.
Here are the highlights of our camping trip:
1. Teepee Tent
We chose a Teepee tent that sleeps 6. This has a bunk bed with
2. Campground Activities and Amenities
The campsite had a jumping pillow, swimming pool, activities like rock painting, rock climbing, foam ______, hiking by Santa Paula Creek.
3. Camp Experience
Of course the best part sometimes, is doing nothing, this is where we just hang out by the teepee, took a nap, played Go Fish or when the kids play with sticks, dirt, leaves.
Quickstop to Ojai.
TIPS:
- Keep campsite clean – Last time we camped, we were annoyed by the yellow jacket swarming around our food. Clove
- Since the teepee did not have electricity, it did get warm, almost too warm, to stay inside around lunch time in July. Our teepee compared to a limited few did not have any direct shade from trees. ‘Can’t tell if the shade from trees cooled the teepee enough to stay inside. Plan ahead to spend this time to cool off by the pool or _____.
- If you have any questions, check KOA’s website prior to your visit and make a list and call ahead of time to avoid any surprises.
Note: We stayed there in July 2018, at that time, the campground was still rebuiling from the Thomas fire that happneded in December 2017. They did not have an office nor a store. Staying there for 3 days and 2 nights, this did not affect our stay. We had adequate ice and food to last our stay.
